Hi Lou! As I mentioned in the FAQ area, if the mixture feels too dry, add a bit more rum or milk to help bind it better.

Used only 1/4 cup rum

I love your idea of soaking the raisins in rum—it’s such a festive and flavorful twist! Yes, I always add way more rum than I should. 🙂

I make Rum Balls each Christmas. First use of this recipe and love the idea that more Rum is included in your recipe than most others. Am going to give it a try by soaking Raisins in some Rum and then adding 1/2 cup rum to the mix. Should be yummy! Will let you know Jo how they turn out.

For nut allergies, you can omit the nuts in chocolate rum balls. As an alternative, try using crushed cookies or cereal for added texture. They’ll still be delicious and safe for those with allergies!

Love the sound of irish cream ones. Trying your rum balls this chrissy, both in rum balls & the irish cream ones. Thanks for all you great, easy recipes Jo. Will have to remember to take photos. I plan on doing up some mason jars with the treats in them for little gifts for my health care workers who help care for me. By the way, I cooked your pulled pork & your BBQ sauce for my son recently when I visited him..it was a huge success, he loved it.
